The Raven & the Butterfly

Presented by Junkyard Cabaret for the 2021 Minnesota Fringe Festival

August 7 - 15, 2021
5 Live-streaming Performances

Dive into the wild and whimsical world of queer cabaret diva Mistress Ginger as she holds a sacred space to sing folk songs of centuries past, with origins ranging from 19th century Scotland to early 20th century Appalachia. Harnessing magic, myth, and earthly grit, Ginger’s musical explorations evoke the many lifetimes that course through her veins and inform the present, signaling a return to wholeness, embracing both the raven and the butterfly.

Ginger comes to you live-streaming from her dressing room (aka the Gay Bat Cave). She may also stream from other locations in the Twin Cities – tune in to be surprised. The songs feature Noah Klemp’s guitar accompaniment á la Joan Baez circa 1961. The show includes one original tune written by the Mistress.

Showtimes (all live-streaming):
Saturday, August 7 at 8pm CT
Sunday, August 8 at 2pm CT
Friday, August 13 at 8pm CT
Saturday, August 14 at 8pm CT*
Sunday, August 15 at 2pm CT

*For the Saturday, August 14 show, Noah Klemp performs the guitar accompaniment live. Otherwise, accompaniment is prerecorded and it's just you and Ginger. 💋
